Veterans Day - make it international - this Wednesday 11/11

A couple of years ago Military Veterans living in Cuenca met at San Sebastian Plaza on November 11th at 11 AM to share a moment of silence and prayer for peace. It was a very moving event. I got to meet Veterans from a number of different countries. We formed a big circle and on the 11th minute of the 11th hour had a moment of silence to honor all who gave their lives for the freedom we enjoy now. It is something that is worth doing again.
If I remember correctly, we introduced ourselves and stated what country and branch of service we served in. Let's just do it again by just showing up. If you have a symbol of the country you served please bring it. A flag, hat, etc. If you’re a son, daughter or you're just a friend of a service member or veteran, please come. This event is open to all.
My name is Steve Waxman and I will be at the Plaza at 10:45 AM on that day. There is a Military Statue near the southside of the plaza; one cannot miss it. I am not trying to reform the Veterans group that existed for a while in Cuenca. I just think it is an important day and moment the world should always remember. Please pass the word around. All are welcome, not just Veterans. I hope to see many new and familiar faces. This will be a rain or shine event and very informal. Thank you and to all my fellow Vets - Thank you for your service.

November 11th, 10:45 to 11:30 AM, Free, San Sebastian Plaza, Cuenca.
