This week in La Guarida

We have a very eclectic and awesome week for you. Please know that every Tuesday we are hosting Jatari Warmi. They are women farmers and bring the most beautiful produce, chicken and eggs from Jadán, Gualaceo. Sizú algo joins us with their incredible bagels, pastrami and sauces. You may not know this but Sizú has the best bagels in town - 8 for $3.50 - can't beat it. Every Tuesday we will have specials on wine bottles. This Tuesday we will feature Tarapacá Cosecha for $11.50 the bottle. Remember that we serve breakfast from Tuesday to Saturday from 9 AM to 1:30 PM. Come join us.

Tuesday 6:45 PM: Ixcanul.
More than a fable about the clash of tradition and modernity, “Ixcanul” is an illustration of the ease with which those who have can prey on those who don’t. Simply a Latin American masterpiece.

Wednesday 6:45 PM: Hidden Figures
Three female African-American mathematicians play a pivotal role in astronaut John Glenn's launch into orbit. Meanwhile, they also have to deal with racial and gender discrimination at work. An incredible look into this wonderful and painful real-life story.

Friday 7 PM: Flamenco songs. Cover $8.
An outstanding and unique concert is coming to La Guarida. Mariangel Mundarray y Hector Hernandez will pay tribute to this wonderful style of music. You cannot miss this very special evening.

Remember that these 3 events are reservations with dinner only. Doors open at 5:30 PM.

We also have Nunkui products available. They have the most wonderful yucca, beef, chocolate, honey, turmeric and many more organic beauties from the Amazon region of Ecuador. Most of you already know Nunkui and the wonderful work they do. In these troubling times the best we can do is to support our local producers and certainly one of our favorites is PanArte. You won't get a $3 loaf of sourdough anywhere in Cuenca. PanArte is the best sourdough for the best price.

You may also pick up your favorite fish from Cuenca Salmon.

We are 10 minutes from La Cuadra Station (Tranvía) couple of stops from el Centro and a 15-20 minute walk from Ordoñez Lasso. Come and get to know us and thanks for all those happy customers that are always encouraging to continue.

October 12th, from 9 AM to 8 PM, Free, Mariscal Lamar y Luis Pauta, Cuenca.
