Recommendation for Casa Tierra Cuenca, furnished apartments short or long term

I highly recommend staying at Casa Tierra as an initial landing spot when moving to Cuenca – or when visiting Cuenca. Casa Tierra has 3 fully furnished apartments available for short term or long term stays. The 3 apartments face into an interior courtyard so there is outdoor space available right outside your door.

The manager, Lisa, lives in the attached house with her husband. From my first e-mail to Lisa, through several phone calls from the US, and then during our stay at Casa Tierra, Lisa was very responsive and offered lots of good suggestions. Casa Tiera was a great "landing place" for us when we first arrived in Cuenca. The 2-bedroom Sofia Suite worked well for my husband and me; my husband used the small second bedroom as his office for studying Spanish. The kitchen had everything we needed to live for the first couple weeks and the refrigerator and stove worked well. All 3 suites have lots of windows facing into the inner courtyard and thus there is lots natural light in the suites.

It was nice to initially live in El Centro as everything is within walking distance - restaurants, stores, grocery stores, etc. Plus, I loved having the coffee shop / restaurant, Nucallacta, right there with an entrance from the inner courtyard. My husband and I had lattes several times in the morning or afternoon plus we ordered soup and sandwiches to bring back to our suite for lunch.

I highly recommend staying at Casa Tierra for anyone moving to Cuenca as an initial landing spot. And I plan to recommend Casa Tierra to friends who want to stay in Cuenca for more than a week - as one week is long enough to stay with us in our apartment.
