Voting in the 2020 presidential election

The 2020 US presidential election is rapidly approaching and will be held on November 3rd. Don't miss your chance to vote and have it be counted. As ex-patriots submit absentee ballots, one has to request and submit one's vote weeks or even months in advance to assure it arrives before the deadlines for one's former state of residence. Don't assume you are still registered, as states routinely perform voter roll scrubs, so you may have been removed from the rolls without your knowledge. Most states now have online registration if you discover you have been scrubbed. The deadlines to register to vote and request absentee ballots vary by state. The following two websites will help you contact the election board for your former state of residence and tell you what the deadlines and procedures you must follow are:

https://www.marieclaire.com/politics/a26251797/2020-election-voter-registration-deadlines/

and

https://www.vote.org/absentee-ballot-deadlines/

Given we are so far from the US and now are operating under Covid-19 conditions, it behooves one to be proactive with one's right to vote. Please put voting at the top of your to-do list and go to the above websites today.

Currently upstate New York.
