Looking for a wheelchair

Tuesday I was in the Plaza de 9 de Octubre when I watched a disabled man, unable to walk, who was holding wooden blocks in each hand and using the blocks to push against the pavement to lift his body and move his torso forward, with his legs folded beneath him. I had never seen anyone have to move this way.

I watched him move ever so slowly for a couple minutes, and then wondered if there was anything I could do to help him. I went and talked to him. I was further shocked when he told me he lived in a 2nd floor apartment, and had no family in Cuenca. I don't know how he gets up stairs just using his hands. He said he was from Gualeceo.

So, I wondered if I could somehow help him get a wheelchair. And that is the purpose of my post.

If anyone has a wheelchair that they no longer need, please contact me.

I have not told him what I was going to do, only that I would look for a way to help him.
Thank any of you for your benevolence and generosity.
