Hogar de Esperanza: The value of partnerships

How many partners should an organization have at any one time? Some say, the more the merrier. However, here at Hogar de Esperanza, we feel that the value is not found simply in the number, but in the benefit that each organization brings to the other. And in our line of work, where we have some of the most difficult cases referred to us on a regular basis, each of our partnerships is so valuable to us.

For us, partnership and collaboration mean something incredibly special. Since this crisis began, we have partnered with more than 20 organizations. Organizations that have been on the front lines helping those in need. Organizations who work, day in and day out, to fulfill the same mission as we do. They send us those who have nowhere else to turn. They have brought us their sick, pregnant women, the elderly. Those with drug addictions, mental health issues, cancer, HIV. Those hungry and living on the streets, those with no family and all alone. And, through our strong network of partners throughout Cuenca, we work to bring them back to good health.

Our partnerships go both ways, bringing so much to our work helping those in need. The National Police helped us control the lines of people who came to us for help at the height of the lockdown. In return, while we helped get those released from the Turi Jail back to their homes, we fed them, housed them, clothed them, and healed them.

However, this crisis is far from over. And while our partnerships allow us to stretch your donations to the maximum, the needs remain huge, and our current financial resources are not able to meet these needs. Please help us to continue our work of helping those in greatest need. To donate, please follow our new link, https://www.givingway.com/project/a9af7d. Thank you so much – we could not do any of this without you!!
