Hogar de Esperanza is going to Guachapala

We receive many requests for assistance, both here in Cuenca and around the country. One recent appeal for assistance, however, is very special to us. Guachapala is a rural farming community near Paute, where the needs of its community have mostly been overlooked during the COVID-19 crisis. After contacting many organizations, the Municipality of Guachapala was told that we were the only one who could help them with their specific needs. They have 15 families there without adequate food supplies, including several with special needs babies who were born prematurely and require special vitamins and formula to thrive.

Due to the travel restrictions, the preparations and coordination have taken some time. We now have everything organized, and this coming Friday we are making the trip to deliver this aid. We are looking forward to meeting these families and spreading some love from Cuenca to Guachapala by assisting our neighbors in need.

If you would like to make a donation, you can do so by following the links at http://www.hogaresperanza.org/en/donations/. We are also happy to pick up cash donations. Thank you so much – we could not do any of this without you.
