Sourdough bread from DEFY

DEFY has partnered with Rafael from Venezuela to provide a variety of sourdough bread. Rafael, like many other Venezuelans, left his country due to the problems there and came to Cuenca to make a life here. His actual occupation is forester. He'll never be able to practice that here in Ecuador nor in Venezuela.

But he is smart and diligent, and is working hard to make ends meet here. He supports family back in Venezuela, including his teenage daughter who needs daily insulin injections that must be imported (not available domestically in Venezuela).

I'm proud of him for his work ethic and that he's avoided simply begging in the streets.

My point is, Rafael makes a great product. Your patronage will help him survive and continue on here. If not, he'll have to go back to Venezuela. I'm doing what I can to market his products, and working toward a win (Rafael), win (you), win (me) situation.

Check out our website for Rafael's bread, DEFY's soups and desserts, and Melody of Plants' personal care and household cleaning products.

All of DEFY's offerings are as natural as possible, and delivered by bicycle.

During the COVID-19 health emergency, delivery is free.

The weekly order cut-off is today (Wednesday) at noon, for delivery Friday and Saturday.

I'm looking forward to treating you and planet earth, with dignity.
