In Search of the Boiling River (Buscando el Río Hirviente)

I just finished listening to episode 31 of Duolingo's Spanish podcasts. See https://podcast.duolingo.com/episode-31-buscando-el-rio-hirviente-in-search-of-the-boiling-river

Someone else may be interested in this particular story. It's by and about Andrés Ruzo of Perú, who "grew up listening to his grandfather tell a story about a river with boiling waters in the Amazon. When he later became a scientist specializing in geothermal energy, he set a goal for himself: Go deep into the jungle and find that river."

Well, he did find the river, and has since devoted himself to studying the area. His web site is "The Boiling River Project" at http://www.boilingriver.org/

From the web site: "Andrés is the founder and director of the Boiling River Project, a non-profit organization, as well as a geoscientist, science communicator, author, and educator. He is a TED Speaker, TED Book Author, and National Geographic Explorer. Andrés holds degrees in Geology and Finance from Southern Methodist University (Dallas, TX), where he is currently finishing a Ph.D. in Geophysics."
