DEFY and social distancing

The current global health (and economic crisis) is no joke. Qualified health authorities have urged everyone to practice Social Distancing as well as diligent hygiene (frequent thorough hand washing and refraining from touching the face).

Social Distancing is now law in Ecuador for the time being.

But we all need basic necessities (food, medicine, etc.) We either need to go out to get these, or have them delivered.

Each time we interact for a purchase (visiting a store or receiving a delivery) we increase our risk.
Home delivery probably has less risk since there’s only one point of contact (the delivery person with the goods).

How can we lower our risk more?

By having fewer deliveries and buying more each time. Buy enough to last as long as is reasonable. Buy more foods that aren’t’ easily perishable: canned, frozen or dried.

There are many great restaurants and food providers that are offering home delivery. Please support them. But buy more each time and reduce the frequency of contact. Practice Social Distancing. It saves lives. Maybe even your own.

I’ll be making home deliveries during the Covid-19 emergency free of charge.

Kitchen hygiene has always been to Food Safe standards at DEFY. I am taking additional measures to prevent microbe transmission during transportation and delivery, to make sure you’re safe.

My current Menu:

Harvest Vegetable Soup (new)
Apple Butternut Squash Soup
Roasted Onion and Tomato Soup
(Coming soon: baked beans, and lentil soup)
American Nanaimo Bars
Canadian Nanaimo Bars
Elsie’s Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting
My Brownies

Plus, a wide range of Melody of Plants products: skin care, shampoos, cleaning products and yogurt. Plant based and all natural: no chemicals.

New product from the genius of MoP: antimicrobial shield: Acts as a skin sanitizer, killing up to 99.99% of pathogens. Eliminates all microorganisms and protects the skin from further contamination for up to 8 hours, unlike any other hand/skin sanitizer. Safe (even beneficial) to use on your face as well as inside your nostrils. Doesn’t irritate or dry out the skin. Doesn’t contain alcohol.

I’m giving away 50 pairs of 100 ml bottles of the best yogurt on the planet on a first-come first-served basis.

Cream’O’Gurt Yogurt, by Melody of Plants, is made from organic milk. It’s pasteurized to only 85 degrees C to preserve alive the natural desirable bacteria found in the milk. The bacteria culture comes from Europe. There are 250 billion live cultures in a 1-liter bottle and 13 different bacterial strains. It lasts up to 6 weeks in the fridge. Melody of Plants worked long and hard to perfect it.

Eating quality live yogurt will help support our immune system.

Cream’O’Gurt Yogurt kills 4 birds with 1 stone. 1. Supports the immune system 2. Provides (quality) sustenance 3. Tastes awesome 4. Supports local organic farmers and businesses (like DEFY and Melody of Plants).

It comes in 12 different flavors plus Natural: Apple and Cinnamon, Banana, Blackberry, Coconut, Coconut with Panela, Mango, Naranjilla, Passionfruit, Peach, Pineapple, Soursop, and Strawberry.

For this round of the Great Yogurt Giveaway, you have 3 flavors to choose from: Plain, Banana, and Mango.

There is a small $0.25 deposit for each bottle ($0.50 for the 2), refundable when you make your next order of any product from DEFY.
