An important correction…

The Cuenca Soup Kitchen and the Outreach Program have had a happy and productive working relationship for a year and a half and both are looking forward to continuing and expanding their relationship. We are both committed to working with the Posada San Francisco to better the lives of those who find themselves in unfortunate circumstances, no matter where they are from.

Unfortunately, a public statement was made within the last two weeks that put this relationship in a bad light. The statement was made during a presentation at Mujeres con Exito featuring local charitable organizations and potential volunteer opportunities. At this function an individual who is neither a part of the Cuenca Soup Kitchen nor of the Outreach Program stated that the Outreach Program was joining his organization because it was experiencing problems with the posada. This is categorically untrue. This individual was asked twice to correct this misinformation; however, he declined.

The Cuenca Soup Kitchen and the Outreach program have never had any intention of severing their partnership. They will continue to work together towards solutions for those in need. They will also continue to honor their friendly and productive relationship with the Posada San Francisco.

This notice is an effort to set the record straight. As a charitable organization, our reputation and our relationships are our greatest assets and we will not let them be misrepresented by others.

That being said, we look forward to continuing our strong and happy bonds with this community, both Ecuadorian and expat. Ciao nuestros amigos…we are proud to call you friends!
