This week Russian music with the Symphony Orchestra of Cuenca

Symphony Orchestra of Cuenca offers another great concert, this time with a demanding Russian repertoire. We wait for you on Friday, February 7 at the church of Santo Domingo at 8 PM. Admission is free until capacity is filled. We thank you for arriving early.

Russian symphonic music is admirable because historically it has been a way of exporting and disseminating the heritage of its country, with a wide range of composers who in their admiration, love and homage to their land included the melodies and harmonies of their folklore, religion and identity.

This music is a sample of excellence that portrays with a special motivation the richness and diversity of Russian identity and that in the interpretation characterizes a lot of power, a display of virtuosity and unparalleled demand for the instruments of each family: strings, woodwinds, brass and percussion.

We could say that each one of the Russian composers has opted for the passion towards his homeland, his folklore and his identity with notes of surprising elasticity, tremendously moving that reach the public with an unusual expressive capacity.
