Hogar de Esperanza – Baby Kit Project with local hospital

Hogar de Esperanza is excited to announce a new project in collaboration with Vicente Corral Moscoso Hospital in Cuenca. The project will focus on preserving the well-being of young, vulnerable mothers and children at risk.

Baby kits with diapers, baby clothes and specialized items based on individual assessments will be provided to mothers delivering babies in the hospital. Our goal is to help give new mothers, especially teenage mothers from rural areas or living in poverty, an extra boost of support from the get-go. Coordination will be with hospital social workers who work closely with these new mothers before they are discharged.

This also brings another wonderful opportunity for you to become even more involved in your Cuenca community. There are multiple ways you can support, including help with completing the room in which the baby kits will be housed and assembled, donating baby items, volunteering to help assemble the kits, and more. Please contact us if you are interested in supporting us in this exciting, new initiative.
