Take a journey in support of Hogar de Esperanza

Join us Thursday, Oct 24th on an incredible journey to Cascadas de Giron/ Laguna de Busa/Yunquilla. We will meet at Hogar de Esperanza located at Juan Montalvo 8-18 and Mariscal Sucre at 7:30 AM for early morning coffee to energize ourselves for an amazing trip to Yunguilla.

The first stop will be at Giron where we visit the “Museo Casa de Los Tratados”, a historic house which commemorates the “Battalla de Tarqui on Feb 27th 1829”. From there we head to, “ Las Cascadas de Giron” and then continue this incredible journey to “La Laguna de Busa” where once again we will be able to contemplate mother Nature at her fullest. Afterwards, on our way to Yunquilla we will stop for ,Guarpo Juice extracted from sugarcane… or you can try “mapanagua”which has a little moonshine added. Our last stop before arriving at Yunquilla will be a sugar plantation to see how “panela” is made and you will have the opportunity to purchase some fresh panela.

Once we arrive at a beautiful property in Yunquilla owned by Andre and Roni Alban, we will relax and enjoy a delicious lunch prepared just for us and some relaxing Jazz with Su Terry performing. You will have the opportunity to explore this property with breathtaking views. Our final stop before heading back to Cuenca will be with a partner organization, Mensajeros de Paz Orphanage, where we will share some tea and cookies with the residents to make their day special.

We return approx. 6 PM. Cost is $25 per person and includes: Transportation, guide, all entrance fees, mapanqua juice, and lunch.
