Next week in la Guarida

La Guarida is happy to continue projecting the best selection of films in Cuenca. We will be dedicating our Mondays in June to present memorable black and white films that are hard to find in Cuenca's cultural calendar. We also continue with our eclectic Tuesdays. Always free, always at 7 PM.

MONDAY, June 3rd at 7 PM

Young Frankenstein
a film by Mel Brooks
(presented in English with Spanish Subtitles)
starring Gene Wilder

About: Respected medical lecturer Dr. Frederick Frankenstein (Gene Wilder) learns that he has inherited his infamous grandfather’s estate in Transylvania. Arriving at the castle, Dr. Frankenstein soon begins to recreate his grandfather’s experiments with the help of servants Igor (Marty Feldman), Inga (Teri Garr) and the fearsome Frau Blücher (Cloris Leachman). After he creates his own monster (Peter Boyle), new complications ensue with the arrival of the doctor’s fiancée, Elizabeth (Madeline Kahn).

Tuesday, June 4th at 7 PM

Annie Hall
a film by Woody Allen
(presented in English with Spanish Subtitles)
starring Woody Allen and Diane Keaton

About: Comedian Alvy Singer (Woody Allen) examines the rise and fall of his relationship with struggling nightclub singer Annie Hall (Diane Keaton). Speaking directly to the audience in front of a bare background, Singer reflects briefly on his childhood and his early adult years before settling in to tell the story of how he and Annie met, fell in love, and struggled with the obstacles of modern romance, mixing surreal fantasy sequences with small moments of emotional drama.

Don’t forget that we serve food and drinks and that our first 3 tables receive free popcorn.
