Double D's celebrates Father's Day at Gran Feria Tutto Matto

On the Saturday before Father's Day, we're going to feature treats that represent the important dads in our family.

Harold (Deb's dad/Dawn's grandpa)--German Chocolate Cupcakes
Robert (Deb's brother/Dawn's uncle)--Apple galettes (fancy word for pie/tart)
Lee (Deb's BIL/Dawn's dad)--Chocolate Angel Food cake
Blake (Deb's son/Dawn's cousin)--Eggs Panama (potato-crust mini-quiche/GF)
Glen (father figure to Blake)--Pumpkin Praline Muffins

In addition to the inspiration from the amazing men in our family, we've been inspired by many of the recipes we've seen on The Great British Baking Show. At Tutto Matto we'll debut our first attempt: Pear and berry frangipane tart. Frangipane (fran-jee-PA-nee) is a velvety and sweet almond pastry cream. It will surround poached pear slices and be topped with a compote of whatever berries look best in the market.

For our traditionalists, we'll also have flourless chocolate cupcakes, cranberry orange scones, white chocolate cranberry walnut biscotti, strawberry shortcake trifles, and ham and veggie mini-quiches.
