Diabetes support group - Monday meeting: What's Cooking?

Everyone is welcome, especially those who are living with diabetes, or have a partner or friend you'd like to support. When you or someone you love has been diagnosed with any form of diabetes, the impact it can have on your life and your family can sometimes be overwhelming. Many have found it helpful to attend a support group, where they can meet others who share their experiences. Gain support and understanding, trade tips and ideas, improve your diabetes self-care and focus on issues that are important to you.

Our topic for this meeting is "diet" as in, your usual foods and beverages. We'll discuss the often controversial topic, "Is there really such a thing as a "diabetes diet?" We'll spend the first part of the meeting covering this topic, and the second part will be a round-table discussion about food, cooking, and eating! Come with your questions and your two favorite healthy cooking tips to share.

There are no dues and no fees: The Castle is generously donating the room and the projector for me to gather people together for this educational and supportive meeting. I will accept $5 donations to Casa de la Diabetes, a non-profit foundation dedicated to providing affordable health care, medical supplies, and education to the community: there is no requirement to donate.

If you have questions just email me.
