Cuenca Soup Kitchen - growing pains

Over the past year and a half the Cuenca Soup Kitchen has grown from serving 20-30 hot lunches two days a week at Hospital Vincente Moscoso to now serving over 220 people a day five days a week between our Soup Kitchen and Outreach Programs. This expansion has allowed us to serve many more Venezuelans and Ecuadorians in need of support. It has also given us the additional challenge to staff all shifts with volunteers.

We are currently in need of volunteers for our Friday meal. Volunteers who prepare the meal come to the Soup Kitchen at 10 AM to begin meal preparation. Another crew comes at 11 AM to help set tables and serve our guests during the noon and again at 12:45 PM seatings. When the cleanup is done (Much of it by the Venezuelans that come to eat) we are all ready to leave, usually before 2 PM.
