"Poetry and BookART" at idiomART, A few spots left

The workshop is a collaboration between artist and poet, Magdalena Herreshoff and artist, Kimberley Wood at idiomART.

Magdalena and Kimberley will inspire you to bring text and art together into a one-of-a-kind handmade book.

Come, write poetry and get poetry off the shelves.

Start doodling like insects flying off the page, move your pen along the page and leave your mind behind.

Allow the blank page to discover new insights into poetry and lead you to the unexpected. Life is made of poetry, it lurks everywhere. It may spring out on you at any moment.

George Berkeley, the great Irish philosopher said, "the sweetness of the apple is not in the apple, it happens in the content."

You will have a choice of handmade paper from native Ecuadorian fiber plants, eucalyptus branches and raffia fiber as the backbone of your artists' book.

An accordion structure will allow for your unique book to be displayed revealing your poetry.

There will be assorted items from nature to help put your signature on your book.

A new book form will also be an option.

"Books are uniquely portable magic." ~ Stephen King

No experience needed.

Cost is $35, includes all materials.
