idiomART's Friday Salon: Becoming Heroic

idiomART’s Friday Salon is a wonderful way to meet local artists and writers, learn more about Ecuador's art, history and culture, as well as, socialize in a lovely environment.

On April 26, we will have Sanford Shapiro, a renowned Learning Specialist and Educational Consultant Sanford Shapiro in a presentation and conversation on raising resilient children.

This presentation, "On Becoming Heroic Parents and Grandparents -- When Our Kids Struggle, Who Do They Need Us to Be?”, is based on current research in neuroscience and social science as well as the heart of Sanford’s experiences. Sanford is an expert in Dyslexia, Learning Differences and the Mental Health of Children and Teenagers.

Even if you think your parenting days are over or if you're not a grandparent this presentation could be just the thing to kick start your relationships. And if you know a teenager, please invite them to join in on Friday. In teaching adults about child rearing and parenting teens it's much more fun and relevant if teens show up as well.
