Baby booties and mommy slippers

We are making a “care package” of much needed essentials to give to new moms when they leave Vicente Corral Moscoso Hospital. Many of these moms are very young and have very limited or no financial or family support. Social Workers at the hospital have asked Hogar de Esperanza to work with them to help these moms and babies get off to a better start. We crafters and friends can help by making and/or donating the following essential items:

Baby booties/socks for small newborns, knitted or crocheted (tied together with extra yarn)
Mommy slippers for size small or 5 US (Eur 35), knitted or crocheted (tied together with extra yarn.)
Caps or bonnets for small newborns, knitted or crocheted
Small baby blankets, knitted, crocheted, sewn or quilted
Diaper bag/tote bag, sewn or quilted

We have volunteers who can help you make items if you need help. Just let us know.

If you are not crafty or do not have time to make items, you can still help by making a donation or purchasing any of the following items:
Diapers for newborns
Baby wipes
Baby cream
Baby rattle

Items can be dropped off at Minka (Gran Colombia 9-69 between Padre Aguirre and Benigno Malo). Be sure to tell them the donation is for the Babies and Moms project with Vicente Corral Moscoso Hospital.
