Banco Pichincha has seen the light!

Several years ago I visited this branch when it was on Las Americas and have continued to do business there since it moved to Ordonez Lasso. The chief reason for doing so is Adrian Bravo, an easily accessible executive at the branch, whom I met my first visit there. Adrian is my go-to guy, a friendly young man who speaks good English, and usually quickly handles any issues or banking need I might have.

Last year I could only get 3.5 percent interest for $10,000 on a 180 day CD at this bank and did very limited investing there. Recently Adrian told me Pichincha is now paying 5.3 on the same. It is within a short walking distance and requires little time and no expense to get to and from and in and out.

True, I may get somewhat more return on the money elsewhere; however, for those in Gringolandia who wish to diversify, the increased rate on CDs at this Pichincha may provide a good choice.
