Lions Club meeting, Monday

Our next Cuenca English Lions Club lunch meeting will be on Monday, November 12th. Our guest speakers will be Tod and Mary Freeman of Helping Kids in Ecuador. Their website:

At our last meeting, David Small was kind enough to do a presentation about FASEC. Please see our blog for more information. None of us want to die a lingering death. But, FASEC does a wonderful job of making this type of death more comfortable.

Our club’s initial focus is on addressing the need for early childhood vision screenings, from 6 months of age onward. Thanks to an extremely generous donation brokered by one of our members, we have enough money to buy the Spot Vision screener. This will be the first step in improving eye care for many Ecuadorian children. Here is more information on this unit:
