Royal Enfield in Cuenca

having spent some time in EC, most of it in Cuenca, a few years back. I've decided it's where I'm going for a pre-retirement, extended stay.

I looked at all the bikes available in Cuenca, the Chinese stuff that is sold everywhere, including convenience stores and the Yamaha and Honda dealers where the quality didn't appear much better.

Went by the Royal Enfield shop down on the Remigio a few times, but never went in. Anyone ever price out a bike there? They look like they are all revisions of the same 500 cc air cooled single
and are simple machines that can be maintained with a basic tool kit. I understand a tool kit is a necessity as they tend to fall apart.

Anyone ever price out a new Royal Enfield? The import duties realistically prohibit importation of your own bike so I'm looking to buy one after settling in EC. The warnings of safety, licensing, insurance, etc, are not needed. I'll figure all that out later, after the bike purchase.
