Recommendation for Empanadas de Colores, food

Yes, yes, you can buy empanadas of different colors, hand made from all-natural ingredients by my friend Miriam. Walk along Tomebamba, have an emapanada, then walk it off.

Well, now Miriam has become a friend, who dispensed many a good advice on all things Ecuadorian. By education, she is a psychologist. She has a longstanding interest in nutrition and constantly reads on the subject, staying abreast of the news in the area of healthy foods.

I first stopped in her little place on Tres de Noviembre when I was dying of thirst. Miriam gave me a glass of water, then we chatted (she speaks English, but I insist on torturing her with my "Spanish"), she told me of her great interest in health food and of how she eats herself (very healthfully, yes). Then I had a yellow empanada with chicken and some spices and vegetable, it was great!

Have returned for Miriam's empanadas, and for her advice many a time. Tried empanadas of all colors, like them all. Tried many different juices - all very good and not excessively sweet. Have to try yet her special - green smoothie or something. It is always fun to speak with Miriam - she has a great sense of humor, interested in travel and many other things, and loves people.

Miriam's little place is located en Tres de Noviembre, two three houses from the Vegetable Bar. If you are facing the Vegetable Bar, Miriam's Empanadas are a bit to the right. When she is open there is a sign on the sidewalk She is open Monday through Friday 12-14 pm and then 18-21 PM Empanadas are $1.50, if I recall it correctly, a glass of juice is same
