Lions Club Meeting Monday

Our next Cuenca Lions Club lunch meeting will be on Monday, October 29th.

Well, we did it. We have exceeded the minimum 20 members needed to charter our “Cuenca English Lions Club.” A big "shout out" to the good folks at GringoPost--we couldn't have done it without you.

If you are not currently a chartered member, now would be an excellent time to charter with us. You have until Monday, November 12, 2018 meeting to sign up as a charter member. After that, the chartering membership of club closes. Of course, you will still be eligible to become regular members of the Cuenca English Lions Club.

At our last meeting, we had over 30 attendees. (Quite a change from the handful of people who did the initial organization.) As, a reminder, we are open to women and men, Latinos and Expats, and have a very diverse group of members whose common goal is to provide service to our new home city and country.

If you are not familiar with Lions Clubs, please visit the website:  www.lionsclubs.org.
Our club’s initial focus will be on addressing the need for early childhood vision screenings, from 6 months of age onward. This is intended to identify eye disease early to prevent blindness. We will then add additional activities as desired by the membership.

At this upcoming meeting, we expect to have a speaker who represents FASEC (better known in USA as Hospice Care), addressing services provided locally. Come to the meeting to get the facts from someone intimately familiar with their work.

Monday, October 29th Meeting 1:30 PM - 2:30 PM. Come at 12:30 and enjoy the great Tex-Mex food if you can, Meeting, free; Lunch approx $7-$11, El Rey Del Burrito Cuenca located at Alfonso Cordero 2-93 y Manuel J Calle across the street from SuperMaxi El Vergel, Cuenca.
