It’s good to be alive today! Insulated gas hose makes me happy

Don’t be like me. I was living with a risk of a serious gas explosion without even realizing it.

When we pulled my oven out of the wall to do some repair work, we discovered that the yellow gas hose feeding it had a quarter-sized scorch mark, right there in the middle. It looks like it had been exposed to heat where the hose accidentally touched the poorly insulated oven.

That burn damage could have turned into a leak and gone Kaboom! Easily and without warning.

Jorge Tosi from ServiTosi, 098 410 8678, let me know me that the bomberos recommend replacing regular yellow or orange gas hoses with an insulated black hose wherever they might be exposed to heat.

I’ve lived in several homes around Cuenca and it’s been yellow hoses all the way. I didn’t even know there was another kind.

Please take a look. Depending on your stove / oven set-up, insulated black hose might be a cheap & easy life-saving fire prevention measure for you too.
