Magnesium is an important mineral, and many people are deficient. I've met quite a number of migraine sufferers who didn't have any more headaches after adding magnesium to their daily vitamin/ mineral routine.

It is also a very great mineral to take both internally and externally. A very well absorbed form is magnesium chloride, available in many farmacias here in a liter brown bottle, called Cloruro de Magnesio, for $7.

Or, make it yourself, $1.50 for a small packet of crystals at Botica Olmedo, on Juan Jaramillo just below Borrero. They have a tiny recipe with amount recommended. You'll likely want to dilute it in more water to disguise the strong taste.

Then, get an extra packet of the cloruro de magnesio crystals, put about 1/2 teaspoon in a very small bown, and appx. 1/8 cup of water. This is called magnesium oil because of the way it feels.
Now dip clean fingers into it, and rub it on a sore knee, sore hip or back, ankles, toes, anywhere.
My friend Rosa's 91 year old mother was in pain in all the areas mentioned above, making walking and sleeping difficult. A few days of this, and she was out of pain, and beginning to walk with help. A short time later she was walking on her own.

A tasty form of this same magnesium is in Peter Gilham's Natural Calm, sometimes available at the Nectar store, or online in the US. Costs more, appx $25 in the US, but very nice. I like the flavored one.
