Youth Art Workshops At idiomART

Anatomy and Figure Drawing, Pop-Art Printmaking, Pen and Ink Comics, Galaxy Acrylic Paintings and Clay Creatures.

Every Monday, 5 to 7 PM, for 6 weeks starting April 16th.

During this workshop you will learn the basics of composition and design, while experimenting with fun new mediums in new and interesting ways to engage interest, creativity, and exploration.

(For ages of 12 to 18)

Bilingual (English and Spanish)

Instructor: Emma Wille

Week 1 : Anatomy & Figure Drawing

Students will learn the basics of proportions & gesture drawing. They will then sketch a clothed model using charcoal & paper.

Materials: Charcoal / Pencils / White Charcoal / Erasers / Large Newsprint / Smudgers

Week 2: Pop Art Printmaking

Students will learn about Pop Art Printmaking techniques and create an original pop art print

Materials: Styrofoam Squares / Rollers / Paint / Large white construction paper / Paper / Pencils / Erasers / Pointy Tools for Carving

Week 3: Pen & Ink Comics

Students will create their own graphic novel images using traditional pen and ink techniques.

Materials: Black Ink / Brushes / Watercolor / Pencils / Large white watercolor paper / Examples

Week 4: Galaxy Acrylic Paintings

Students will learn the basics of acrylic painting techniques and create a beautiful, original piece to take home.

Materials: Canvas (Medium), Acrylic Paints, Paintbrushes, Color Images to copy

Week 5: Acrylic Paintings (Continued)

Week 6: Clay Creatures

Students will create a clay creature while experimenting with different tools & sculptural techniques

Materials: Air Dry Clay, Paint, Tools, Plastics.

Limited space, so please sign-up as soon as possible.

The cost is $15 per class or a 6-week class discount package at $70, which can be paid via PayPal or in cash. (Material costs separate, approximately $5 per class if needed -- to be paid at class time.)
