Great changes at Hogar de Esperanza

Thank you to all those who helped make this an incredible year for us. With your support, this past year, we have assisted 323 individuals in over 16 communities across Ecuador. With such growth, we had to make some changes to ensure we continue our support of those in need.

We are excited to announce that we have added two more members to our board. Natalia Torres is a psychologist at the Vincente Corral Hospital. Jenny Armijos is a head nurse at the IESS Hospital. We will be making further announcements about additions to our advisory board in the coming weeks. As we have outgrown our space, we had to make decisions about either moving to a new location or renovating our current space.
We have decided to move the Thrift Shop to a new location this week to Tarqui 10-15. Students from the American College and our volunteers have been busy getting the new store ready. The food bank and our office space will move to the old Thrift Shop location. This will free up space in the house to accommodate up to 20 patients, from the current 13. Those who have interacted with those we help know the huge impact we make. Renovating our space is the most cost-effective solution.

We greatly appreciated your support either in donations of items to the thrift shop, food bank or in financial support. If you are interested in being a monthly or one-time donor, please contact us or visit the thrift shop. Hogar de Esperanza is a registered charity in Ecuador, (in Canada and the US though CAF America) who supports families affected by catastrophic illness with a focus on HIV. Through our partnerships with Casa Maria Amor and Hogar Emaus, we also support domestic violence victims and children battling cancer.
