Recommendation for Martha Mays, Ecuador History Class

I want to give a big thumbs-up for Martha's Ecuador History and Culture class. The class met yesterday at Martha's new and very comfortable classroom/apartment in the Plaza Otorongo. She covered 12,000 years of history in just five hours, and it left me wanting more. Her class covered geography, history and culture of Ecuador pre and post 1830.

I took this class three years ago when first arriving in Cuenca, and Martha has updated it to include all the recent developments in Ecuador, along with new illustrations and insights about upcoming elections. I really appreciate Martha's first-hand knowledge of all the cultural nuances of Cuenca and the different native groups. This is really a fun and informative day, worth the very reasonable $25 cost, given the amount of material covered and nice setting. She presents this class each quarter, so contact her for the next dates.
