Veterans Day gathering Saturday morning

Veterans Day was originally known as Armistice Day and it is commemorated every year on November 11, to mark the armistice signed between the Allies of World War I and Germany at Compi├Ęgne, France, for the cessation of hostilities on the Western Front of World War I; which took effect at eleven o'clock in the morning—the "eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month" of 1918. The date was declared a national holiday in many allied nations, and coincides with Remembrance Day and Veterans Day, public holidays.

Our US Veterans Day is this Saturday. Please join the members of the Veterans League of Cuenca who will gather at Parque San Sebas (where Cafe San Sebas is located) at 10:30 AM, Saturday, November 11, to commemorate the day and to honor and remember those who have served.

We will briefly pray and offer an opportunity to those who wish to speak. The gathering is for everyone, not just veterans. Please join us.

Saturday, November 11, commencing at 11 AM, Free, Parque San Sebas, Cuenca.
