Full day Gualaceo + Chordeleg

At 8 AM, heading north-west to Cuenca we will start with San Bartolomé, a pre-Cañari city famous for the production of guitars, and visit a workshop. We continue to Chordeleg known in the country for its pottery and gold and silver jewelry where we will learn the technique of filigree, then we will cross its central square. Finally we went to Gualaceo; The Gualaceo Valley is located on the banks of the Santa Bárbara River. Here, a slightly lower elevation makes it ideal for growing peaches, apricots, apples, cherries, guavas and cherimoya.

The valley is famous for its handicraft shops of ikat weavers, straw hats and basket weavers, potters and embroiderers. There we will visit 2 food markets. And after lunch we will visit a textile workshop where we will know the looms that are a fundamental part of the Ikat technique in shawls and ponchos. Return to Cuenca. Lunch Included.
