City tour, half day

At the southern end of the Andean Region is Cuenca, the third city of Ecuador, known by many as the "Athens of Ecuador" for its culture and for being the birthplace of many of the most renowned writers, poets, artists and illustrious men and women of the Ecuadorian culture.

The city is surrounded by green mountains and crossed by four rivers that give a really fascinating character. Cuenca has also preserved its colonial architecture and was declared by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage City. Walking through its narrow, cobbled streets is an exquisite experience to admire the colonial charm of its old houses with their flowered balconies, small squares, some covered with multicolored flowers and its numerous churches with their impressive towers and domes. Excellent museums and art galleries complement the city's great cultural vocation, while its natural surroundings provide magnificent views that make the city more enchanting.

We start at 9 AM in the Plaza de San Sebastián, the colonial border of the city, then visit the Museum of Modern Art. We will walk through the historic center to see the San Francisco market, the Plaza de las Flores, the House of Culture, the Abdon Calderon Park, the Old Cathedral, we enter the New Cathedral; We continue with the Toquilla Straw Hats factory of Homero Ortega. Then the ravine next to the river Tomebamba, and finally the viewpoint of Turi. Return to the Hotel.
