The City needs your urgent help

With distemper, without access to clean water, with very little food and a step to die, a total of 109 dogs were abandoned in a shelter located in the area of Miraflores in Cuenca. A group of people are now trying to take care the dogs.

Gabriela Brito who works at the local government visited the center and checked the state in which the pets are found.

The councilor explained that the refuge was built by a foreign citizen, who ordered the administration to a citizen who months after was accused of mistreatment the animals and he leaves the shelter, leaving the animals to their fate.

Activists at the Los Amigos de Manolo foundation got to know the case and went to the rescue of the pets, finding more than 100 dogs in inappropriate conditions and some failing. Brito said that the fact was brought to the attention of the relevant authorities.

But the emergency in which the pets live does not end there, the food that they have obtained will not last more than two days, so they ask for food and veterinary help and the citizenship to be able to save the animals.

Dog food, building materials, tents and veterinary aid are required by the foundation.

The initiative has also been taken to allow the sponsorship of the dogs, through a donation of $10, and this Saturday will be carried out a donation campaign in the Regional Portal of Handicrafts of Cuenca, PRAC, located in San Blas.

Donations and support at the Santa Bárbara veterinary clinic, information at the telephone numbers 099 837 0613 and 099 181 1039. (JPM) (I)
