Dax, the Dachshund, thanks you + Mel, the Boxer, seeks “forever” home

Sweet Mel, the Boxer, is about two-years-old and was found on the side of the highway, scavenging for food, about five months ago. He was rescued and nursed back to health, receiving top notch veterinary care and much love. He is a good boy, very gentle and mucho handsome!

Right now, he is not doing so well. He is currently homed with many other dogs and isolating himself, avoiding any unnecessary human and canine interaction.

He is non-aggressive, except for cats, which he does not yet understand. He gets along fine with other dogs and children. He would do best in a home where there are either no other dogs or only a few and, of course, no cats. He needs your loving care, focused attention and food.

His photos show his unusual coloring and we hope he will have a 'happy ending' just like 'Dax,' the special needs Dachshund for which we sought and received help from you several weeks ago. Here is a link to a Facebook video detailing Dax’s progress -

We continue to be grateful to the expat community for your support of the “special needs” dogs of Cuenca…
