Cuenca: recycle children's clothing to the extreme rural poor

New project for ECP (End the Cycle of Poverty) = Recycle Children's Clothes sizes 0 to 7

Please help spread the word in Cuenca that we would like to recycle children's clothing to the extreme rural poor who live high on the mountain tops in Azuay and Cañar, with no roads. Some of these folks have children in our DayCare program and providing them with an extra set of clothes (including warm clothes) is an immediate goal. But in focusing on clothing for our DayCare kiddos we've become aware that we can also recycle to the extreme poor in both Azuay and Cañar. This is because of our water filter projects. We have relationships with several communities and now are able to get items directly to the extreme poor (who are often outside our reach).

So to donate you can drop off children's clothes (new or used) in sizes 0 to 7 any time of day or night at the Gran Colombia Suites, Luis Cordero 10-13 y Gran Colombia; entrance is diagonally across from the big blue and yellow Papaleria Monsolavo sign. Just put my name on the bag, Suzanne Thurston. The front desk is used to this and excellent in getting money and items to me. (Gran Colombia Suites staff and management also donate and are very supportive). Feel free to email me and I'll confirm receipt of your donation. Any questions feel free to msg me on FB or email me:

We have children who are cold. So please don't toss items that are stained or we might normally not consider "good enough". Another great donation are warm gloves, hats with ear covers, socks, warm jackets and pants.

This is such a win win. It's good for our kiddos, it's good for our planet and it's great for our hearts.
