World-acclaimed Musician Russill Paul in Cuenca, July 14

In these times of great uncertainty, divisiveness and turmoil worldwide, now more than ever, human beings are seeking comfort in the midst of chaos.

Cuenca provides a safe haven high in the Andes for locals and expats who yearn to heal their hearts and calm their minds.

Here there is a spiritual refuge called Escuela Valores Divinos where Shakti Ma, a living guru from the Vedic tradition, guides and offers her teachings. Yoga, meditation, chanting and mantra are the foundation of these teachings.

Three years ago, Shakti contacted the world-acclaimed spiritual mystical musician Russill Paul to provide her devotees and students a direct experience with the yoga of sound. Born in India and raised by a Catholic father and Hindu mother, his awakening came at a young age. Russill provides tools, experiences and insights of his own liberation from inner darkness. His message is “with the right inner resources, life can be empowering and uplifting.”

Besides being a performing artist, Russill Paul is author of “The Yoga of Sound: Tapping the Hidden Power of Music and Chant” and “Jesus in the Lotus: The Mystical Doorway Between Christianity and Yogic Spirituality.”

In his international performances, Russill Paul has chanted for His Holiness, the Dalai Lama, religious and spiritual leaders gathered at the United Nations, and venues such as the Omega Institute in Rhinebeck, New York, and Chicago’s Grant Park. His unique background includes training as a monk and yogi in India, performing music professionally and recording for the Indian film industry.

Russill Paul moved to the United States 25 years ago and has taught at graduate and post graduate institutions.

Returning for the third time to Cuenca on July 14, Russill will be performing “A Sacred Music Sunset” at the auditorium of the University of Azuay (Av. 24 de Mayo 7-77 y Hernán Malo) at 7pm. Admission is free to the public. Russill Paul will be joined by the ‘Shakti Bhaktas’ or devotional musicians from Escuela Valores Divinos.

We welcome your presence for this free inspirational event.
