Overseas express shipping using Ecuador postal system

I recently had to mail some important documents to the United Kingdom. I don't remember anyone ever writing up their experience using the Ecuadorian mail system. My experience on the mail system follows:

Went to the Post Office in Cuenca and inquired about shipping express to the United Kingdom. I was quoted a price of $30 plus tax and decided to go with that since I was told that it would be there between 8 and 12 days. This timeframe was adequate for me.

Transaction history is as follows:
Item received into the Ecuadorian mail system at 3:34 on October 31, 2016
Item sent to UK on November 1
Item received in UK on November 4
Item received at final destination on November 7 at 12:25 PM

Noticed that the greatest delay here was on the UK side (weekend).
Altogether the system did work and the Postal Service met their Service Level Agreement(s).

I would use them again. This experience has given me confidence in the system and it is an alternative to DHL and/or UPS for those documents that really must get to their destination in a short period of time. It is also an alternative to the "muling" process.
