Recommendation for Visa Angels, visa assistance

I very strongly recommend Jodie Mansfield from Visa Angels for visa processing. I was in email contact with Jodie for 4 months before moving to Cuenca in March. Jodie’s expert advice during those 4+ months was free, and she charged $10/hour to accompany me to Azogues for visa processing and later to help me obtain my cedula. She also arranged the Spanish translations and notarization of my visa documents at a very reasonable price, filled out the application forms for my visa and cedula, and coordinated the entire visa/cedula process.

My Spanish is poor and I was not willing go through the hassle of trying to figure out the often-confusing visa and cedula processes, so the decision to pay Jodie for her post-expert-advice services was a “slam dunk” for me. After helping over 100 expats get their visas in the past 2 years, Jodie knows the system inside-out. On both trips to Azogues, Jodie arranged to have 1 or 2 other expats ride with us to cut our costs. My combined payments to both Jodie and her taxi driver for the entire visa and cedula process totaled under $150—the best $150 I ever spent.

I also used her taxi driver, Giovanni, as my guide and translator to apply for IESS and SRI, to open a bank account, and to run some other errands (for a total cost under $50). Giovanni is an extremely responsible, smart and knowledgeable young man. Jodie and Giovanni made the entire process stress-free for me. In a word, they’re terrific.
