Speakeasy in Cuenca on Sunday

Shhhh... there are authors in the house.

Come and hear some the best writers in Cuenca read their current or favorite works.

It's going to be a wonderful evening of words, wine and whimsy.

Special evening at Santa Canela Hostel Bar Grille

Food/bar service from 5 PM to 9 PM.
Author Readings start at 6:15 PM.

Program includes:

Candy Sugarman - “Beautiful Death”
It's never too late to find love. A lifetime packed into a day.
Candy Sugarman is a member of Sunrise Writers Workshop in Atlanta, Georgia and is visiting Cuenca in anticipation of relocating here. She will be reading a biographical piece.

Nancy Thornton – “Mama’s Kitchen”
The room where Mama fed her family and prepared meals for thousands of guests over the years would never grace the cover of Better Homes & Gardens. But her love for people, her delight in serving, and her gift of hospitality touched the lives of thousands of people over the years.

Kathryn McCullough “Would the Real Criminal Please Stand up?”
When she was a kid, the FBI had a way of ruining things. Almost any event seemed a legitimate target, including her sister Susan’s thirteenth birthday. This is a true story.

John Keeble – Beyond Extinction-Even the Truth is a Lie
Alice Algafari walks into the life of sacked scientist Jack Janis and his golden retriever Max. Will they ever be the same again?

Frances A. Hogg – “El C√≥ndor Pasa”
A photographer jumps at the chance to cover the opening of the lost tomb of the Inca, Atillacocha. What could go wrong?

Rene Fedyna – “It's Amazing What You Can Do When You Have To."
A piercing scream ripped through the air. Irene bolted from her bed and rushed to her sister's bedroom. Oh no! Not again!

And maybe a couple more writers will come out of the shadows and share their stories, too.

You can also come to the art show opening, "The ART of Nancy Thornton", on Sunday, February 11th at eX-Spot, 2-78 Calle Larga, and then walk up a block to "Speakeasy"!

Sunday, February 11th, from 5 to 9 PM, Santa Canela is located on Calle Larga 3-82 y Vargas Machuca, Cuenca.
