Pickleball

Attention Pickleball players or those interested in seeing/learning a U.S. game that is one of the fastest growing sports in the US. I have a portable pickleball net, paddles and balls arriving next week and am looking for male and female players of any level to form a PB group. This is a game for young and old with many PB players in their 70s and 80s. If you're interested please email me at ecuadormove2017@gmail.com.

I'm still trying to find out who has authority/control of the various parks around Cuenca so I can request permission to permanently (with paint) layout a PB court somewhere. So far, I've gotten a bit of a run around on who is in charge. If anyone has any information of who to contact, it would be much appreciated. Also interested in any other Cuenca locations if you have suggestions - PB court size is 20' x 44' (smaller than a volleyball court and less than half the size of a tennis court), and requires a concrete surface.

In the meantime I am hoping to be able to layout a temporary PB court with chalk (quickly removable) on one of the two volleyball courts in Parque Lineal Yanuncay (near the Primero de Mayo y Solano end of the park) and have the first game on Friday morning, Feb 16th. I have been watching these two courts and have not seen any use until mid afternoon or later during Monday-Friday.

If you want to see what the game is all about, go to www.usapa.org/ and watch the "Featured Video" at the bottom of the page.
