Free freshman year courses online

Do you know of a high school student (US or Ecuadorian) that would be interested in free courses and credit from top universities in the US? Here is your chance to help them. I'm sharing this information as my high school age son is using AP/CLEP exams to help reduce his costs for college (free credits really help).

The college board announced a partnership with the non-profit organization Modern States earlier this month. No prerequisites, no costs for courses or textbooks. For example, this makes taking an freshman level JAVA programming course from Purdue University or a Calculus I course from MIT...free. Bonus is that you can take the course online, in Ecuador, with limited English, at any pace...and apply to US universities with credits already from these institutions or in the form of CLEP exams (depending on the course). No penalties for not passing.

Just FYI as I know other expats have high school age kids or have "adopted" smart Ecuadorian students that might otherwise struggle to afford college (one year free can help just about everyone) and could use transfer credits when applying to US universities.
