Free books and other reading materials

Did you know that the local library, Biblioteca Daniel Cordova Toval, has an "English Corner" in the basement of the library where you can check out books, magazines and newspapers in English for free? They also have books in other languages available for anyone to read. This local library provides all kinds of reading material for the local and expat community. They have reading material for all age groups from kids to youth to seniors. The materials can be checked out from 8 - 15 days, with your cedula or passport with no fees. They provide an electronic online catalog link Biblioteca.cuenca.gov.ec/opac_css/ that you can use to look up books. They are located on Benigno Malo between Sucre and Presidente Cordova. Hours of operation are, Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 8 PM and Saturday and Sunday from 9 AM to 1 PM. They provide other services like PC computers for .40 for an hour of use and an in-house copy center for penny copies. They also welcome any donations of books, magazines and other reading material.
