Recommendation for Amelie's French/Italian Bistro, restaurant

I went to Amelie's with my wife and two friends for lunch about a week ago. We were met at the door by the smiling chef, Louis, and his wife. He led us to a private room and told us about the options for the day. We ordered the sampler. For $20. Two people shared several of Amelie's offerings. This included two kinds of soup, a range of sandwich samples, quiche, eggplant parmesan, a roulade of beef, and a delicious desert of cheesecake. I also ordered a wine pairing to go with the eggplant, which was delicious.

I know of nowhere else you can get such a range of delicious food for such a reasonable price. Also, chef Louis came out of the kitchen, answered questions, and solicited our feedback several times. This friendliness and the excellent food and sauces made the afternoon a truly memorable experience. Louis is clearly doing whatever it takes to create an excellent restaurant. I highly recommend Amelie's (which, incidentally, is named after Louis's cute baby, who we also met). The #50 bus stops right in front of the restaurant which is in Balzay, on the Western end of the Cuenca area, north of Ordoñez Lasso.
