6K Community Bike Ride, Sunday, October 2nd

On Sunday, October 2nd, Cuenca’s volunteer firefighters are sponsoring a community bike ride (not a race) to publicize the need to prevent forest fires. There is no charge; indeed, once you register you get a t-shirt and are entered into lotteries for various items. Families are welcome, as this is the end of “Family Week”. For this, the 3rd year of the ride, they expect 1,800 participants.

Registration is on Saturday, between 8 AM and 4:30 PM, at the administrative offices located at Avenida de las Americas y Miguel Heredia. Bring your cedula or passport. You will be given a registration ticket. Show that on Sunday, starting at 7 AM, to receive your t-shirt and a medal.

The race begins and ends at Firehouse #3, located on 27 de Febrero y Roberto Crespo. From there it goes to 10 de Agosto, Pasaje el Paraiso, avenida Pumapungo, avenida Max Uhle, avenida 24 de Mayo and la calle Francisco Moscoso, before returning to Firehouse #3. There, they will also have a musical show and sports surprises.

Sunday October 2nd, starting at 7 AM,  Firehouse #3, 27 de Febrero y Roberto Crespo, Cuenca.
