Since the earthquake The Waterbearers, and our partner Waves for Water, have brought 2500 water filters into Ecuador and delivered them to communities along the coast affected by the disaster. These filters have the capacity to provide clean water for up to 250,000 people. Not all filters will be used at full capacity, and systems are implemented for use in several ways - from individual families ranging in size, to schools and churches where the water flow is likely to be more per day.

Thanks to donations to we have exceeded our expectations, but will continue to raise funds for Waves for Water and their disaster relief. The Waterbearers and Pacari Chocolate volunteers continue to work providing much-needed sustainable solutions to clean drinking water in the following communities:

Esmeraldas - Cojimes - Pedernales - Jama - Canoa - Bahia - San Vicente - Manta - Portoviejo - Puerto Cayo- Musine - Atacames - Camarones - Las Peñas - Borbón - Santa Domingo - Chone - Canuto - Calceta - San Isidro - Cabuyal - Don Juan - Eloy Alfaro.
