Urgent - Earthquake disaster relief

Dear friends and neighbors – I have been asked to make an appeal to the Expat community living in Ecuador on behalf of those who are suffering due to the devastating earthquake that rocked the coastal area. Many of my friends, colleagues and clients have asked me, in the past, “How can I give back to this country that I have adopted as my new home”. This is a golden opportunity. Think about how fortunate you are that you were not vacationing at the coast when this happened and please send love and prayers to those who were less fortunate.

Emergency relief is asking for donations of summer clothing, non-perishable food, water and toiletries. They are also in need of volunteers to help collect, sort and package donations. Collection areas are throughout Cuenca and to volunteer you can contact Adriano Uintimilla at 099 719 4073 (He speaks English).

Donations are being accepted at Mikhuna Centro de Alimentos (in front of the big church at the top of Turi) and at Desarro Social Office (Pres. Borrero between Sucre and Pres. Cordova.). Please consider donating some of your time and/or relief supplies to those whose life has been changed so drastically. Many people have lost their homes, family members, possessions. Don’t you hope that there will be people there for you if tragedy ever becomes a part of your life?

Thanks you and Hugs
